VPN Installation
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network, a service designed for the following purposes:
- To enable users outside the Prince of Songkla University network to connect to the VPN, making their devices appear as if they are within the university network. For example, users can connect to the VPN from home via ADSL or from other organizations’ networks while traveling for work or other missions.
- This type of VPN connection is suitable for users who need to access resources restricted to the university network, such as searching for information from electronic journals (e-journals) or research materials.
There are two types of VPNs currently in use: SSL VPN and L2TP/IPSec VPN.
Users are advised to choose SSL VPN over L2TP/IPSec VPN, as SSL VPN offers faster performance and fewer connectivity issues.
Eligibility for VPN Usage:
- Current students (those who have not graduated or withdrawn from their studies).
- University personnel (including retirees, who are still allowed to use the service).
- External individuals with special permission in specific cases.
